I never found a posting I didn’t enjoy. Germany, Ft Riley, Ft Sill among others were what you made of them.

I am retired navy so I don't know about army bases. From my experience with the navy, there were bases that I liked better than others. I did find that each base was what you made of it. There are things that you can do to make each base more tolerable. It may not be your favorite, mine would be Adak, Ak. My shipmates made it tolerable. We had great fun and 35 years later I am still friends with many of them.

1. Ft Polk - unless you like to sweat 24/7
2. Ft Benning - MCoE (Tradoc) "nuf said"
3. Ft Carson - Units / barren looking post
4. Ft Bliss - a bunch of wanna be SGM running arround correcting everything to include the landscape (j/k)
5. Ft Hood - the only duty station that has more gangs on post than off (google it)

To me there are no worse duty stations; it all boils down to your attitude about where you have been and where you are going. Your attitude is the key venture forth and learn.

There are no worse duty stations. Some better than other I will grant you. The biggest difference is your attitude about where you have been and where you are going.

5? I only got to 3 :-)
But, Fort Lewis for the daily rain. The only place where I ever heard the ARMY issued US Navy Wet weather gear to incoming troops. I pretty much wore the top over a T-shirt everyday. And it had US Navy on it.
I arrived early January. I did not see Mount Rainier (14,000 foot snow capped mountain) until mid February! Cloudy or rain every day.
Having said that. I salute those that have served in a war zone under much harsher and dangerous postings. Thank You for your service!
