I'm guessing "in the Army" covers it, but I was Air Force so what do I know?

Fort Hood, if you get assigned to 3D Cav as your first duty station then GOD bless you. In my troop alone at least 70% go to EBH or are on profile. High suicide rates and a lot of chapters for pissing hot. Very low morale. When you in-process into Fort Hood reception tells you that the installation is known for highest in drug abuse, drunk driving, sexual abuse, chapters and many other vices. Austin is fun though if you're into going out. But if you're a nature person the river and lake can get old. You need a car to do anything fun.

It depends on you. From my time some of the worst are closed. If you hate snow then Alaska sucks. If you hate humidity than I'd take Polk off my favorite list.

Good - Campbell, Bragg, Sill, Schweinfurt (FRG), Benning. Not good: Hood, Saudi, Camp Shelby (MS)

As an Airborne Infantryman, Loved Polk, Hated Bragg, Camp Casey ROK was a year of drunken professional development. So, while I didn't love Korea, I didn't hate it as it made me a better NCO.
