I've noticed over the past year that there are stretches of time where daily prayer, meditation, and bible study are easy to do and even something I look forward to. Then there are other times when prayer feels dry and bible study feels more like a chore than anything else. Have any of you found ways to maintain consistency?

Daily Prayer and devotional time is a habit. It is like exercise, daily walk, daily routine. It has to become a natural occurrence in your routine. If prayer is dry, then reverse the routine. If you do your daily bible reading is normally first, then prayer before your devotion. Mix it up a little bit. Keep a list of prayer requests. Pray for friends and family by name. Hope this helps. I recognize my dry spell. Then I look to Heaven for the desire to move back into a prayful life.

That could be why I look forward each night to SSG William Jones posting the Rev. Billy Graham's devotionals.
