Recent interview with CSA revealed that the Army is close to making a decision on the 'new' uniform for daily wear. It is likely that the uniform will be the current uniform worn in Afghanistan.

The way ahead is clear; grant the contract to the company that makes reflective belts and have them make us a combat unform made entirely out of PT belt material.... It's the only way to ensure safety ;)

I'd like to see us go back to one standard utility uniform across the services, similar to how it was with BDUs. I find it a bit sickening that we waste as much money as we do on R&D and then production of uniforms and TA-50 for a service specific camouflage pattern. To make it worse, when we deploy half the Air Force and Navy personnel that are deployed wear the Army uniform anyway, so do we really need to waste all that money on each service maintaining its own individual camouflage pattern? Each service can still maintain their own traditions and individuality through their service and dress uniforms.

The ACUs are a joke. They are uncomfortable, costly, ineffective, and wear out far too quickly. I would gladly put back on my multi-cams, or better yet, lets just go back to the old BDUs. Those worked better than about anything we've seen since then.

SIR, I wouldn't mind either the OCP, Multi-cam, scorpion II whatever we are going to call it. I would just like to add I wish that in a garrison environment we would be authorized to wear black boots. Would love to have a highly shined set of jungles on.

I was happy to hear the Army was considering OCP as the Army's ONE uniform. I wasn't surprised when they decided against it later. But I was really confused once I started reading about the new APFU.

Not even a no but a HELL NO we cannot afford to keep quality Soldiers lets not try to remake another uniform that costs more money and complete overhaul of Military's look.

The monetary cost of ACU/UCP is an embarrassment. But what's even more embarrassing is the adoption of an ineffective camouflage pattern. I'd gladly turn my back on the cost of ACU for a pattern that might actually improve a soldier's survival.

Sir-That's interesting to hear....Glad to see we spent all the time and effort to turn those uniforms in only to get them issued to me again at a later date. As long as we are able to roll up our sleeves again in garrison, that would be an improvement.

SGT (Join to see)
I'm a little jealous. I wasn't able to turn in most of my OCP gear post-deployment.
