How about giving them something that's actually useful like maybe a leather man or multi tool.

Is this an old post? Fidget spinners haven’t been a thing for a while.

If you need a f-ing fidget spinner you probably shouldn't be carrying a gun. smdh

So when did we start handing toys out to the Soldiers? You ether Reenlisted for an Assume Opportunity to better yourself and hopefully upward mobility or the Military was not for you and you went back to the Civilian Side of Life.

For as far back as I have been in (19 years so far) when a Soldier reenlists the Career Counselor usually gives them something for their commitment outside of the option/bonus they receive. Typical is a mug, pen, backpack, knife, etc... The majority of these items are geared toward the Soldier and something they may like or be able to use. I personally also think of those with family members and what could they get out of it since they are the behind the scenes backbone for the Soldier. Kids like little fidget things and other small gizmos and gadgets as wel.

It was a question to see if people think about the families as well as the Soldier.

Twiddle your thumbs. You can't loose that and there is no added expense. Plus you have it all the time.

Do you really think a little gimmick toy or pen or sticker or button or sack is meant to be the defining line or turning point in a Soldier’s career? That a trinket will make or break someone’s continued service? Not even in the least.
