ARE THE MOD'S TO THE M4 REALLY WORTH THE HYPE?

The full auto upgrade seems like a good idea. I've always had the opinion that if you're in a situation where you need to use the three round burst option, you probably need more than a three round burst to extricate yourself from that situation. That and the mechanism for counting the three round burst on the old rifles was faulty, because if you fired a three round burst with two rounds in the magazine and reloaded, your next three round burst would contain one round. Also I'm sure that the heavy barrel and improved trigger pull provided by simplifying the mechanism will be welcome improvements. So it's probably not the rifle everybody was hoping for (short-stroke gas piston), but its probably the best outcome we could have expected from the get go.

Short stroke pistons are an easy upgrade. Maybe the next step. Aside from the caliber debate, the M4 really is the gold standard for assault rifles and it's hard to dramatically improve on it.

The real benefit of the MWO is the ambidextrous selector switch and heavy barrel. The trigger is of little consequence and is not improved over the current one in any way.

I do foresee an issue with the selectors loosing over time due to the new design, and will be making an on the spot change during install to prevent that from happening. It's going to be a fair bit of work for the armament shops.

Going back to a full auto trigger was smart. More consistent trigger pull. I would have converted the entire inventory to a short-stroke piston.

Sir, the short-stroke piston would be an amazing up grade. I also agree with the full auto upgrade, were facing a opposition with full auto capabilities
