I like the move away from tracked vehicles to wheels. In today's military, mobility and serviceability is essential, and tracked vehicles relatively speaking are neither. Wheeled vehicles are typically much faster, easier to repair and maintain -- and I believe they can be designed to provide much more protection and resilience from mines.

I also like the off-the-shelf approach the Marine Corps is using for initial replacements.

Perhaps you haven't seen AAVs pulling LAVs out of tank traps and other situations all day.

How about LAVs with flat tires from THORNS in Somalia? AAVs may be slower on land but they handle rough seas and after all, the Marine Corps is designed to be amphibious.

I thing it's a capital M when talking about United States Marines.
Also that the development programs are a money drain. How much in total was spent to develop the EFV over how many years and then it gets scrapped completed because it's too expensive? Now the process starts all over and defense contractors take in the money. Meantime our fabulous Corps continues to make it work with patches and upgrades.
