Per regulation their should be no issue, they would fall into an exception to policy, the same case between my wife and I . AR 600-20 Army Command Policy

so far what i have found on "Dual-military" has been for family care plans but not really anything else. i am curious as to, would the ANG spouse be treated more or less as a civilian? whats the BAH rates between the two? what is the geographical regulations between the two? I'm not looking for someone to give me answers but where i could find the answers myself so i know later on where i can tell my soldiers to look if given the same question. thank you

BAH after being married the individual with the highest rank will get dependent rate unless the individual with the highest rank is reserve or national guard. If both are active duty the individual wit the highest rank will receive BAH rate with dependents and the other part will receive single rate. It all depends on the situation.

Like @sgt Jorge. Said the person with the highest rank will receive the BAH and even if she do have higher rank than her husband he will still get the BAH cause he is active duty. When she gets activated in the Guard and have more rank than she will get it but she don’t have to worry about BAH since she is only drilling. Also she will get treat like a civilian is she is living in post but still under the military rules.

There is not just one source. If one is active duty and the other is AGR then they would be treated as both active duty for all pay and allowances. One gets with dependents BAH the other single. They can pick who gets what. If they have kids they need a family card plan. They really can’t be signed up to the married Army couples program cause one is in the Gaurd and the other RA. So if she is AGR at a state there won’t be many places to move. If she is at NGB then she may be able to do a swap but that’s only for a couple of years. Not many army installations near state capitals. 600-20 has some of this stuff and it’s a good start but best thing is to talk to others that are in that position. I was AGR and my wife is USPHS. I left AGR when they were going to PCS me. They have to be prepared for those things.

You are polite. I make my Soldiers look up their own regs and FMs.
