My elderly mother just recently had a stroke. She was just released from a nursing home to her house. The house is not set up or do I have the proper equipment it takes to care for her. She is paralyzed on her left side and there is no chance for her to walk again so she needs all the equipment to make this possible for myself or caregivers to assist me trying to take care of her. Is there any programs available to help me cover the costs of the items I will need to be successful at this.

Get Guardianship over her. A lot of paperwork and some court costs involved. Once you get that, get medicade for her, find a care giver company. They will train you to be a caregiver. You become the care giver and the company pays you to be the caregiver. Then put in for SSI. My process to about 10 months to complete.
