Great book, I've read it a couple times
SSG Jeffrey Spencer
And for leadership, read the Art of War for Managers.
SSG Mike Angelo
Bowen H. "Buzz" McCoy. (2007). Living into Leadership: A Journey in Ethics. Stanford University Press. Standford, CA.

Young leaders need to develop their internal compass. This sets the stage for right versus wrong, but most importantly, those issues of right versus right.
This book was not written when I was a young buck... Sergeant. I was fortunate to have some outstanding senior NCOs that led by example.
Stanford University Press
<p>"We were Soldiers once . . . and Young" by LG Harold G. Moore. </p><p> </p><p>Simply one of the finest examples of a natural leader I have ever seen. If you're not a reader then watch the movie; they managed to get quite a bit of the leadership nuances into it despite the limitations you have in translating a novel to the screen.</p><p> </p><p>There are lessons on counseling, mission command, leading by example, and just plain caring about your subordinates that every military leader can learn from and apply.</p>
Here's a few for you to get started (in no particular order):
Read as many autobiographies as you can get your hands on = this will help you learn about the mistakes other made
How the Mighty Fall (Jim Collins)
Lessons of Experience (it's from the center of creative leadership)
Blink (Malcolm Gladwell)
Crucial Conversations/Crucial Confrontations
The First 90 Days (Michael Watkins)
The Dark Side of Success (John Borbi)

Thank you for the reading list, I'm definitely a fan of autobiographies as I love history.
