Ive been stationed on Camp pendleton with my wife for a year, she just joined the Navy and is now in boot camp. What can i do/ who can i talk to in order to coordinate her moving to me??ive read the Navmc order of 90 miles apart a general rule and that the commands will make every effort possible to do it. But every marine around me is saying its all on her. but ive also heard and read that Both parties need to submit the Navmc 1 year ahead of PCS. Since she just joined and no way could it be a year yet, How can i or what do i do to make sure her first duty station is on or near mine?

File for married couples program. Every branch has one.

Speak to your command and have her do the same. They and your personnel section will know how to process properly. There are never guarantees in the military. Thank you for your service.

Since she is just now joining and going through school, her command should notify her detailer about being dual military and where you are stationed. if she gets stationed more than 250 miles away you can request orders to be closer once you have completed obligated service at your current command.

What is her rate, and she can do a special request, to ask to be stationed near you. You guys should have done some research on rates and duty station for said rates, anyway it is what it is but you can do a request and see how it goes. Good Luck.

I talked to the corpsman career counselor and he said she has to put in a colocation chit to her own career counselor for her rate YN yeoman. However does she have to get to her first duty station to do that or can she do it at her mos school?

Cpl (Join to see) - I think she can do that at her A-School, she needs to talk to the School career counselor, when she arrives. YN is a good rate, for them to collocate you two. Good luck and "SF" from Seabee "Can Do"

Every branch has a married couples program, but they only apply to couples I was in the same branch.
For couples who are in separate branches, they both need to contact their assignment managers well in advance of their next PCS. The assignment managers can work with you in order to find something that fits both of your needs. However, because you are not protected by any couples program you are not guaranteed to be stationed together. It comes down to how well you can work with your assignment manager, and where you are both able to be stationed according to your MOS, rating, and rank.

I also heard that people have submitted the Navmc and that it didnt do anything. So I guess the question is do i need to talk to my CO in my platoon to coordinate her moving here in order for her to have extra importance of pcsing here?

Well they try to accommodate married couples in the program on Active duty but doesn't always work. When I was stationed at Lejeune 2 other marines in my company were dual military. One of there spouses were stationed in cherry point and the other spouse was in Virginia.
