Currently a 1LT Promotable, MP, PA National Guard, with 10 months left of my initial obligation.

Here’s my situation: Since the moment I set foot at BCT I knew I wanted to be Active. Now, I still want to be active but I’m also now in a rough spot. Basically, when I don’t have drill, I don’t have enough money to cover my bills and I’m starting to get behind. I really need some help. And becoming Active would help. I’d be financially stable and doing what I love, a win win.

My thought was to go to the IRR then to Active. I haven’t seen any conditional releases get approved lately; PA Guard is low on strength.

What can I do ?!? I need all the options.

Also have you tried Mobcop/Tour of Duty. You might be able to find a good job that you can go on orders for a long tour.

Have you tried putting in for AGR? With 10 months left being commissioned they might not want to release you 368 to go Active but with financial situation and explaining that to them the State might release you. I would go see an Active duty recruiter ASAP get the 368 do the memo stating the reason you want to be released to go Active duty and walk it up the COC asap. Now I'm not sure what route Active would be the fastest for you probably going enlisted then putting in a package for officer but the recruiter would be able to help you the most. Hope it works out for you Sir.
