What can I expect as an 11C who just re-enlisted for Fort Campbell?

Specialist 11C just re-enlisted for Fort Campbell out of Fort Hood. What to expect and advice for things to look out for.

Promotions will start coming faster because 11C's are the smartest in the infantry

High op tempo unit, i would prepare pt wise, last i was there 09’ the line units value pt and scores. If you are not Air Asslt qualified my unit had AA PT every Thurs until you went to school. Overall pretty good unit obviously that depends on you individual leadrshp. Check out the museum on post.

It will be my wife, my kid, and me moving down there. Never had on post housing, so how would leave and moving everyone down there work?

Ensure as part of your outprocessing from hood, you have authorization orders to PCS your family as well should come as an amendment to your orders. When you get your clearing papers go to the transportation office first and get houshold goods pickup set up first. If you are havimg the Army move you if you are authorized a DITY they will tell you the steps for that. Call Ft. Campbell housing office once you have your orders and they should be able to get you on the list for housing and discuss what you need to Do for reimbursement for a hotel when you get there. More than likley you and the fam will have to stay in a hotel for a couple of nights when you first get there. If you want PCS leave then take it. You will get 10 days permissive DTY leave to find a house when you get there.

Definitely go to the museum and learn all you can about the division and your BN. A lot of good men died in this unit, do them right by doing the best you can and becoming the best soldier you can. Nobody can ask more than that.

Be ready for Air Assault School soon after getting there. Probably within two months depending on your training optempo.

What if I️ already have air assault from Hood. Will they make me redo it to their standard?
