I'm slotted to start my SSD II in December. Just curious as to what I can expect and how easy or difficult it is. Any insight would be appriciated.

The course material for SSD II is unlikely to be much different than it was for ALC-CC. The info I have is for the latter:

Module 1: Army Leadership, Sexual Assault Prevention, Equal opportunity, Suicide Prevention, Assist Family Members.

Module 2: Army Writing, NCOERs, Environmental Law, Physical Fitness, Squad Training.

Module 3: OPSEC, Information Awareness, Cultural Awareness, Combat Stress, Soldier as a Sensor.

Module 4: Risk Management, Law of War, OPORD, SITREP, Casualty Ops, Detainee Ops.

Module 5: Riot Control, Checkpoint Ops, IED Defeat, Reconnaissance, Urban Patrols, Hasty Attack.

They may rebalance that into 4 modules--that was the model for the SSD levels I've taken (1 and 4), but I bet that most of the subjects will be the same.

How did you find out that you were slotted for SSD 2 and what website do you access the course through? It's like beating a dead horse for information in my unit. Nobody knows a thing.

I was sent an email telling me when my start date will be, and in the email there is a link for SSDII. Took about 11 months after I got promoted before I was enrolled in the course.
