What can I expect from being assigned to a NG Aviation unit as a 25U?

I was a 25U in aviation, get ready to work with the air force a lot. But that depends on what your job is there.

If you personally don't keep yourself in tuned with your job, like anything else you will forget somethings.
But for the most part you would only be important when you have training coming up or AT those are the times you actually touch your equipment unless someone needs help

Going to an aviation unit is magical. Truly a different beast than any other unit. Only downside that I saw while in an aviation unit was the lack of motivation to get things done. I went from the super crazy hooah side of Fort Bragg to the CAB and boy was the life way slower. But you’ll learn a lot as a 25U as well so take advantage of working closely to those aircrafts!!

I'm in a MEDEVAC detachment. We have 1 25U in our little group and he's usually either acting as the Supply SGTs sidekick or in OPS talking on the radios to the aircraft we have out and about.
