Best bet is, one of you is gonna have to leave the military. It is extremely difficult to put you guys together. Different branch and also mos.

This is the grim reality we are both starting to see but with 4 years both on our contracts its going to be hard and neither one of us is going to accept missing out on 4 years of our boys growing up.

Depends on your branch of service. There is a thing called a joint spouse assignment. You must apply for it. I do not know the rules or regs that apply to it, but it is an option.

I would have to say that you each contact your branch managers and then have each branch manager talk to each other. Otherwise, I have no other helpful information that would be beneficial.

SSG (Join to see) - I certainly understand that, but there are times when you HAVE to contact branch. Either that, or submit a request to be assigned to FT Irwin, as that (I believe) will be the closest Army base with your MOS (ADA, I'm guessing). It's not ideal.....but it will get you both in the general area together.

You hit it dead on, its actually the on going joke right now is going to FT Irwin and playing OPFOR all the time lol, but whatever it takes honestly. Every thing else is 12-18 hours away unless I become a recruiter which is another option

SSG (Join to see) - I was stationed there. I found it to be a great assignment, actually. The ADA boys there had life pretty good. But then, that was in the late 90's.

Read all the suggestion and I think SSG Livingston's suggestion is your best bet considering your and your wife's current status. If your S-1 is interested in helping, get her to call, or better yet, get her to push it up to the CO and have him work it. CO's do care about their people.

Air Force needs to go to MPF and place the mil to mil on your MILPDS with his SSN I forget the code but basically says your married mil to mil and the army needs to go to the admin/personnel section to do the same. Those codes must be put on your record. Since it's a different service they will use your SSN. Then you have to wait until they can move u close together. I'm an admin for AF and the MILPDS needs to reflect your active duty marriage status.

So all she needs to do is check if her MILPDS reflects our marriage status? No need to talk to her AFSC manager or anything?
