Things you can do or say at basic to ensure additional smoke sessions.
I thought this would be a good way to add some humor to the discussions list.

Things like...:

- Simply ask "Why?" for anything.
- "That was easy." after getting smoked
- Complain about the heat/cold
- Touch the campaign hat.

1. Always ask Why? They really love that.
2. Let them know you are too tired. They will take care of that.
3.It's not fair. They will make it fair for you that got a group smoking. Got to be fair
Or my favorite. Somehow have a pine needle stuck to the bottom of your canteen during an inspection. Ouch still sore and that was in 1983

DS: Why are your hands in your pockets?
ME: Because they are cold sergeant.
DS: Drop and give me 20.
(me - beats face for 20)
DS: Are your hands still cold?
ME: Yes, Sergeant.
DS: Drop and give me 20 more.
(me - beats face for 20)
DS (now with other DI's raising eyebrows in the background): Are your hands still cold?
ME: Yes, Sergeant.
DS (with other DI's behind him raising their eyebrows about where this is going): Duffield, What. The. F***. Is. Wrong. With. You?
ME: The Concrete is cold, Sergeant.
DS (with other DI's snickering in the background): Well G**D*** it, give me 20 sit ups.
ME: (crunches out 20)
DS: Hands cold now?
ME: No, Sergeant. (wasn't going to push my luck about my ass being cold)

(true story - Fort Leonard Wood - approx late October 1988)

"Are you getting smart with me?"
"Sergeant, if I were, you obviously wouldn't know."

Tell them that you are Russian. Ouch. had to earn my duffle back the moment I got off that bus. You can say the rest of OSUT at Knox wasn't much better.

At the time of the cold war I had all the guys in my platoon marching like Russian soldiers on parade in red square until the senior drill caught us and asked what the hell we were doing and my battle buddy replied "practicing march tovarishch starshiy serzhant! My battle buddy spoke Russian.

Awesome topic SSG Andrew Dydasco. I need to hear from an actual Drill SGT on this one: SFC Chad Sowash.

Unfortunately, AF cadre are not authorized to use individual PT as discipline. However, group or flight PT sessions are a great way to punish everyone, and these sessions definitely build esprit de corps among trainees.

Just say "Yes, Sir" when the DS tells you to do something.

Simply by saying yup, yeah or what. I saw many guys earn us a smoke session by doing this.
