I am slightly nervous being newly married, never having been to the West coast, and leaving a deactivating unit.

Get your mind ready for the field. NTC is in April. I've been in 3-2 and now reflagged as 1-2 since June 13 and not a quarter goes by that we aren't in the field. It's not bad just prep your spouse for the shock of being gone 3 wks or more every couple of months...

They just stood up 23rd BEB. It's falls under 1-2 SBCT. They have great Commanders and 1SGs over there and are slowly filling their ranks. Whats your MOS? I should be be to get you a POC to help fill you in a little more

I think you are referring to the 23 Inf Regiments, which there are two of them. The 1/23rd is in the 1st SBCT (Stryker Brigade Combat Team) and the other is 4/23rd and they are under the 2nd SBCT. Both are part of the 2nd ID. So I hoped that clarified some of the unit information. However; there is no 23 Brigade Engineer Battalion from what I know, however; if you are sure that it is, great. I will have to see where they are locatined.
Well I hope you will enjoy your downtime here, there is some much to do, you could easily go on stay-cation and not get every thing don. So I hope you enjoy your tour.
