To be honest most 25P's are not doing what our MOS is designed to do. But that is the part I truly like. Coming into this MOS in 2008 it was rumored the MOS was going away. Not the case. However, we have been told we are merging, going away, or as one regimental CSM that I know personally, said they have no clue what do with us. But I have been stationed at a great unit in Tampa. DISA/ WHACA loves us. But the draw back has been promotion. This last E7 list had 7 on it. Which was the first time since '13. I wish you luck and hope this information provides useful. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Signal.army.mil had a paper stating they would merge all 25 CMF into 3 tier MOS's. From what I remember, 25P is somewhat 25U/N/B.

But like what do 25Ps do? Is the job boring? Do we get to see combat every now and then?

Look up online network controller, line of sight communications, CCNA, circuit and spectrum management. The places that Papa's tend to work is and tech control facilities and electronic maintenance shops. when you do deploy you're far from where there is action going on as your communication support to the warfighter. unless you are tasked outside your MOS and have duties that take you outside the FOB.

I cant speak to recent times. I can say that it was the beggining of my technical skill set. I learned how to troubleshoot communication equipment. I was a part of a 2 man team, paired with a 25F. I learned about communications outside my MOS. I had to travel to remote sites during field missions so learning to survey for the remote sites and look for paths between two trees. It helped develop confidence because often you may not have back up for hours. I didnt know how fun it would be when I signed up but happy it was presented as a position.

As a 25P you will be assigned to strategic unit most likely. You will Troubleshoot multiple lines of communications and Coordinate Troubleshooting with other facilities. When it's slow it's slow but when you see all your monitors light up like Christmas trees you are going to be busy for quiet a while. I found it as highly engaging job no less important than any other in the Army. Though you are unlikely to see combat you will be working to keep lines of communications up and running for tactical and strategic units alike. This is a job where you get out of it what you put into it. And this particular Job and the experience you get from it will help you when you get out of the Army in finding a good Job.
