Reading all this, I feel like Security Forces was more like being in the Army than the Air Force..

I was thinking the dining halls. Mess, chow, galley, DFAC. That usually lets me know. However I think the Army uses chow hall as well as marines. I was trained with Marines so I used chow hall instead of mess. ??

F.T.A. meant Fun, Travel and Adventure. This was back in 1965 from a recruitment catch phrase. Also a slightly off color meaning. :-)
