Senior leader is demanding, confrontational, does not have a concept of time expectation. Senior leader makes knee jerk reactions and fabricates issues. Pure do as I say not as I do leader.

The ones that lead by fear rather than doing the right thing. The ones that have cliques, and if you aren't part of the clique you don't get anything. The ones that tell you what not to do, then do exactly that

I hate the ones where there is obvious discrimination. Where the leaders think the only way to communicate is to use fear to control, and where that doesn't work, resort to constant yelling and downgrading with many idle threats. It is not fun having someone tell you frequently how they are wanting to take your rank and tell you that you are useless. This happens even today in our military and its not ok.

The worst leaders I've seen in the military are the COLs trying to get their stars. They tend to push everyone to their limits so that they can get/take as much credit as possible. Beyond that, a lack of stability. Leaders who seem almost schizo - ie, you're the greatest soldier one day, and a complete dirt bag the next.

MSG, how about a leader who favors some over others despite the mistakes the "favored" ones make? How about the leader who allows an NCO to write lies on their NCOER?

so true. I saw one constantly denoted for duis and spouse abuse that kept getting promoted and demoted. it was nauseating. he could seem to do no wrong and was highly regarded by the higher ups, though he was a big talker with no action.

Yep. The truly sad thing is those are the consistent toxic ones who are being promoted and allowed to "stay" in but the good ones are getting kicked out.

A hostile workplace is any workplace where someone uses intimidation, fear of punishment or fear of harm, abusive language, abusive tone, who yells/screams without provocation or need, who belittles, accuses, or chides others in front of anyone, or who makes physical threats or uses threatening verbiage against another person, especially someone they are senior too, or who harasses someone for any reason, especially after they have made it clear they consider those actions to be harassment. A hostile workplace can also be any location where co-workers attempt to force the individual to quit by either making it appear the individual is inept, hostile towards them, or to blame for problems of any sort.
In short: Any workplace where an individual is placed in a situation of duress or forced into compliance through intimidation or fear of any sort.

If you truly feel like you are being harassed and intimidated, then I would ask my EOA that question.
