Back when all it took was a SGT(E-5) or a CPL(E-4) to get shit done!
Back when cadences were like(Combat Arms Days):
If women were like pies....
All on the shelf
If I was a baker
I'd eat em all myself....
HEY HEY BAAAAABEREEEBAHHH!!!
Back when we told a soldier to push and heaven help you if you said...."you gotta get down with me"
Or the old Colombo cadence...
Back when 1SG and the CO gave you corrective training because it made you a better soldier and didn't wanna ruin you with an Article 15...

The ever moving line...I believe it to be when something changes in a significant way as to be a "turning point", for instance, I was in one of the last plt's to graduate Paris Island before they started the crucible as the finsl stage, so all the boots that showed after...crucible Marines..as in I'm old school and your not, graduated 2 months apart! Or say a Ranger who wore the "black" beret, before they gave it everybody, he's old school...
Anybody wanna contribute examples?

After reading some of the responses here, I’m definitely old school. No one leaves the rock. X-ray out.

Did I forget to mention KP? Single wall locker and a foot locker? No more than 3sets of civvies? (with all the uniforms issued it was difficult to get those 3 sets of civvies in the locker -1 summer class A, 1 woolen class A, 1 long Aleve class A shirt, 2 sets of kakai, 4 fatigue, rain coat, winter woolen class A long coat, field jacket.). Permission from cmdr to live off post or register a POV on post. I was lucky, off post passes and the requirement to wear at least a class B uniform when on pass had just ended! And I'm not old school by any means. The M14 and brown boots were gone!

If you were in before 1992 you're 'old school' by modern standards. The "Brown Shoe" army veteran REALLY old school.
