I'm hearing/reading people saying "I'm old school, therefore..." So out of curiosity's sake, where is that ever-moving line?

What constitutes "old school" is relatively subjective. What constitutes horrendous grammar is not. Punctuation is our friend. Use it.

Sorry, CPL but a grunt who can't spell but can shoot straight and keeps his head in a fire fight is my best friend.

"Old School" is in the mind of the beholder. Its different for everybody. When I got to basic training, we were transported in cattle cars. Were never allowed to walk in the company area. Run or stand at attention. We were required to do two round trips on the overhead ladder before entering the mess hall. We started out in barracks made during WWI. The post hospital was started during the Civil War. We did PT and runs in fatigue pants, combat boots and t-shirts. I was assigned a 5/4, M151A1, Gamma Goat, Deuce and a half, and ooooold 3/4 ton. We slept in GP large, Medium and Small tents. Heated by a mogas heater. To me that's old school. The older guys said it was Brown Boots, Ike Jackets and and "K" rations. It just depends on what you experience. Old school/ New school, it's a state of mind.

Not whining over every order. Not being distracted on the range. Getting "it done" then bitching. Otherwise...

When PT uniform consisted of removing your cover and shirt and unblousing your combat boots. Cleaning your M16 with your t-shirt because the manufacturer didn’t provide cleaning kits because it wasn’t supposed to ever need cleaning.

Basically means living in and reminiscing about the past and out of touch with what it means to serve in today's military.
