Hmmm..... old school .... like solid green fatigues or BDUs in front of a M113 command track that I led a 120MM mech mortor section from.... like that kind of old school?

lol, while I will admit that it is subjective based on when YOU served, I would say that this pretty well sums it up, (I am a Gruntpa myself)

Old school is a line defined by what is new, whenever anything changes then the old way is old school. As an example: I am Not Old School with shining my boots (not possible with desert boots), but I am Old School with starching my ACU's like they are BDU's. (Lets not debate the should or shouldn't starch, I just meant it as an example.)
