I'm hearing/reading people saying "I'm old school, therefore..." So out of curiosity's sake, where is that ever-moving line?

I guess I’m more than old school. Our PT uniforms were strip to t-shirts fatigues and jump boots. Of course our t shirts were white.

You left out having to "Spit Shine" your boots, Pealing apart your Starched Fatigues so you could wear them, Running through the field showers to cool down when you went through "Jump School" in July ! 5 minutes youl'd be bone dry

This is how I heard it described in the Marines. Before the Revolutionary War, a group of men we gathered in Tun Tavern. They were looking for Sharp Shooters to put in the rigging of the Navy's ships. The first man they met that met the bill was told to report to the wharf and let the Officer of the Deck know he was the First Marine. Soon another man was found and sent with the same instructions, but that he was the Second Marine. When this man reached the ship, he introduced himself as the Second Marine to the First. The First Marine replied, "Oh! You must be New School." It is just a comment on time and changes made during that time.

If you could take your duty boots from a concrete job or fuel spill to inspection condition in under 30 minutes

If BDUs are the uniform you ever wore

If you knew that that your opinion as an E1-E3 wasn't worth moldy bread

If you knew how to press and iron BDUs with knife creases without starch or sizing

For the AF- if you remember 4 numeral unit designations

If you ever fired M-16A1s

If you remember a time before Don't ask, don't tell

If you've ever heard anybody asked about Hershey bars and their footwear

What's "old skool" is a measurement of how old you are. Jean shorts are "old skool" white Sean jon sweats are old skool, 50/50 caps are oldskool. Not knowing what is "oldskool" is old skool.
