If you were part of the old military that did not have all of the nice touchy feel y good rules that this new woke military has now, then you would be old school, where men were men and not offended by someone saying something you didn't like!

Wearing and running in Fatigues in white Tee-Shirts and in black boots, and C-Rations with your P-38. Khaki Uniforms, Tan shirt with Class A Uniform, Quonset Huts in Basic Training. Web or pistol belt. Wait a sec, I'll think of something.

Breaking starch in the pickle suits, and no PT clothes you wore your utilities and Boots.

From a personal perspective, mostly having entered during the time that the DRAFT was active.

After adding a few comments of my own, I thought to check and noticed that this is another re-post that was originally posted 8 years ago. But it still saddens me to see what constitutes the "modern" military. Old lessons that were learned the hard way are no longer being taught. Traditions that instilled esprit de corps, and/or camaraderie' are no longer practiced because they're not PC. Even some IMPORTANT military history is no longer being taught in boot camp because it's not PC. Even the simple philosophy / lesson of: "Those who forget the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat the lessons of the past", is no longer being taught, because it supports teaching things that are not PC.
