I'm hearing/reading people saying "I'm old school, therefore..." So out of curiosity's sake, where is that ever-moving line?

If you remember a time when a General officer, regardless of position, telling the opposition that he would inform them if we planned to go to war, would be grounds for courts martial and summary execution…

If your higher officers knew the Communist Manifesto was absolute BS.

If your generals pushed readiness, rounds on target and lamented that the civilian leadership wasn’t providing us sufficient ammo to train…

You’re old school.

If TRADOC recognized that there needed to be male AND female standards for PT… and not wasting a shit ton of money on a unisex PT test…

You’re old school.

If the only classes you took were threat recognition, weapon maintenance, field craft, OPORD, WARNO’s and planning for the Russians…

You’re old school.

Actually used a typewriter, handed out paychecks, carbon paper, double sided meant that you had to take the paper out and turn it around, having a nickname, and tacking on dolphins or crows when earned. To name a few things.

If the Drill Sergeant could tell you do anything except to perform an illegal act, then you are old school, if you did not have a time out card when the Drill Sergeant was making you perform PT or hurt your feeling, then you are "Old School". If don't ask don't tell was in place then you were old school. If you can sing any type of cadence without worrying about hurting someone feeling or being politically correct then you are old school.
