What correspondence courses actually count toward promotion points and where can I find them? (I am seeing mixed reviews regarding this).

The skillport classes seem to not be relevant (or I am not looking at the correct thing) and ALMS courses for Food Service are for Office or SSG and SFC. I need some guidance on this as I am wanting to improve my promotion points with things actually relevant to my MOS if possible.

Great question .recently i have been schooled on courses that counts toward promotion as of 1 May 15 ,in order to have resident courses counted you have to sit in a classroom to get awarded those hours, however if you just take online courses through ALMS/ATTRS you will automatically get correspondence points added to ERB..

When do records get added/updated? I recently completed a 39-hour course that was listed by the website as a correspondence course, and I am still waiting on my 23B to reflect its completion.

All of the CC courses will go towards your points, it's doesn't have to be based on our mos. Looking for courses that deal with our mos only you will find it more difficult to maximize those points. Since the system for courses was changed a while ago it's around 400 hours to max and I think around 40 or 50 points total for that section. Take a look at your 3355 promotion point work sheet on HRC in the enlisted section it will help you see where you stand in each area of points. Best advice I can give is jus do the courses regardless skill port is a good option.
