I am weighing the benefits of AD vs. staying in the NG for my next contract, and I plan to reclass to an MOS that requires about 20 months of training (35P). If I stay NG will those 20 months of training count toward AD for purposes of the GI Bill? I am trying to get as close as possible to 100% eligibility.

Someone else may have more recent information but training will not count towards AD time. You need to be on Title 10 orders for more than 90 days to get 100% Post 9/11 GI if I'm not mistaken.

So even my initial MOS training didn't count? Is there so where you can go to see how many months you’ve accrued for GI Bill purposes?

SPC (Join to see) - You'll need to check your contract. Everyone is usually entitled to some educational benefits upon enlistment but if you're talking full GI (i.e. education 100% covered) you will need more than your initial training contract.

It depends on how your orders are written. Last school I went to was 16 weeks and because of the way my state wrote the orders the time didn’t count.
