Capt Gregory Prickett - Yes, those night jumps, one time I landed in the briar patch, another time I landed in a pond, and in a Panama operation, 1st in the door, jumped still dark over water, but the jump master told me the wind would get me to land, which it did, LZ was in a 12' high cane field.
And, that time when we were told to look for a fire for the rally point, out of the door, no fire, I think someone didn't have matches.
Picture is of the Panama LZ 1975, I had to walk out to a place where I could be seen to take the picture. The other picture is of the two MP's attached with us in the jungles.

SGT (Join to see) - ERDL ripstop camis. Haven't seen a photo of one of those in awhile. Much better than the BDUs that followed.

Capt Gregory Prickett - The ERDL's we were just issued in 1975, before we had fatigues.
Picture, we're still in Panama, we were there for 3 months, in jungle expert school.

SGT (Join to see) - When I was in the 36th Abn Bde (2d BN (A) - 143d INF), we were issued ERDLs as part of our TA50, but if we went somewhere apart from the unit, we had to be in the OD green fatigues or a service uniform.

Besides the already mentioned jump and ranger schools, really focus on learning the skills and tools of your trade. Become the SME on land nav, commo (know how to effectively use the various communication platforms you have access to, and all their configurations, and become a small arms expert. Rifle, SAW, and machine gun. I don't know if you are duel carry, but add pistol as well

You forgot to mention in years to come you will look back on it as fun. Especially if you only use the skills in training.

TSgt (Join to see) - Yes, it was fun, I remember one guy catching a moth and eating it, I don't know what he was trying to prove, but he didn't get the EiB. Lol
