1. PFC left alone at CQ desk while NCO went home for the night and would be back around 0430 hrs
2. NCO sleeping in car and SPC went to his room to sleep. No one at the CQ desk and the 1SG was trying to get a hold of them for the past hour.
3. Drunk Soldier yelling at trees for being lazy and not picking up the scattered leaves on the ground.
4. NCO and PVT watching "Terms of Endearment" NO GO!
5. Someone's car filled completely with newspapers and cardboard from the recycling bins outside and a love note.

I have a roving guard that was suppose to check security of buildings that fell under the unit. I was pulling it with a CPL who had done it before and it was my first time. At the very first building I stopped the GOV and told the CPL to get out and check the right side and I will check the left. He got confused and said "we usually just make sure the doors are closed from the car." My response: "Indulge me. Lets pretend I am in charge and I like things done more accurately." We check the building and found all doors closed but 3 unlocked. throughout the night we check about 12 buildings 6 were unlocked. 1 was unlocked and the MP's came becuase we set off an alarm checking it. The command modified the instructions to specifically state you have to physically check the doors from then on.

And a for fun story. We causght a Soldier repelling off the second floor of the barracks while drunk...with sheets.

Six stripped bunks in the hallway with drunk soldiers so they do not drown in their own vomit as some had done in the past. Whore being brought in. Barracks room full of trash and dryer full of lint ready to start a fire. Was basically reprimanded as it was a quality of life issue for the soldier. 1995 Panama.

Oh, how could I forget, I did see two Soldiers that wore beer and soda cardboard suits. No joke, it was at Ft Stewart. They were fighting each other with cardboard tube swords past midnight. The NCO on CQ was walking the area with me and we had to investigate the noise. He went off on the group while I just watched. 5 min after that, the cardboard match was over and all quiet on the western front....

CPT Jacob Swartout - Why did you break that up? It sounds like they were just a tournament bracket and risk assessment from the best spontaneous company activity in history!

LTC (Join to see) Actually it was the SDNCO that broke it up while we were doing checks. He wanted to find out why they were fighting late at night. He tore into them and then it was over just because it was past midnight. I give them a 10 for creativity since they had full cardboard armor on, it that counts.
