Hey everyone, I am new to RP so bare with me here.
I am currently active duty Army (11b). I would really like to transfer into the Navy's EOD program. I have my DD 368 (conditional release request) filled out. Who do I send it to to be signed? Who signs it? And I have heard it must be accompanied by a 4187. If this is true how should I fill out the 4187. Thanks in advance for responses.

Please forgive me; I've been out of the military for 7 1/2 years now, but...TYPICALLY, the Navy or Air Force DO NOT take "Prior-Service," especially from the Army or Marines, BUT the Army and Marines WILL TAKE Prior-Service Navy or Air Force! Go figure! Those that have joined the military since 2010, please "school" me, so I'll know too.

Navy will take prior service just fine. Just a couple extra hoops.

If and when approved by your COC. Take that DD 368 to a Navy recruiting office and ask to speak with a NSO/NSW recruiter who handles Navy Challenge programs, he or she should be able to guide you through the process. Good luck.

Dd368 is when transferring into or out of the Army. It is a DD (department of defense) form, not DA (department of army) 368 can be from IRR any branch, to active army. You do not use dd368 to go from IRR to reserve. IRR is already a reserve component.

So, if I'm reading this correctly, the DD 368 is the correct form to use for my situation? Do you know who must sign it?
