Say a single soldier doesn't have family to forward mail/doesn't have a permanent residence, what do they do?

I found out that single soldiers can always have mail sent to their home unit and it will be forwarded.

They can fill out a United States Postal Service form to have their mail forwarded to them. Or They can have the Post Office hold onto their mail till they return state side. Have them check with their command. The unit post office. Of if they live off base to check with the post master. They can also sign up for a P.O.Box and have the mail collected there till they return. But of course let the POST Office know that you will be deployed so they don't close down the box. Hope this helps..

I ultimately opened a P.O. Box as I did not want my junk mail and hoped that anything regarding finances came to me.
