What do think about Ben Carson's proposals to "shutter" the VA?

I would be interested to see the details of how he plans to do this.

I would like to see the specific goals that Dr. Carson has. I would like to see HHS pared down to the size it was during the Reagan or Carter years. If Dr. Carson is talking about shuttering the VA administrative side and opening up lines of communication in the firewall which separates the Treatment and Evaluation sides so that medical doctors could communicate better about patients that would be good.

I think I commented already in another thread about this but in my opinion what Dr. Carson proposes is just reorganizing the VA under some other government agency and all that will do is shift the problem to a new agency who will inherit the same bunch of slackers that are currently in the VA. Yes there are some great people working at the VA but the majority of them are slackers.
Fix the problem instead of shuffling the deck and hoping for better cards.
