I get away from everything and take a walk in the woods, go fishing, or just take a long drive in the country.

I go to therapy every week, and try to stay active in the community by volunteering with local veterans groups, like the fantastic Veterans Community Project in Kansas City and St Louis.
I drive school bus and interact with kids K through 12. Also serve on the school board. Then I do a lot of on line puzzles. newspaper crosswords and try to interact with everyone that I come in contact with.

I maintain my mental health by having check-ups with my therapist just like someone goes in for a physical.

Attend weekly video discussions with other vets. Group has grown to 12. We learn we’re not alone in managing stressors/triggers. Much needed camaraderie, too. Vets helping vets!

I improve my mental health by popping in my ear pods and cleaning. I feel twice as good since I have decompressed and everything is clean and in order!

I stay active at my local church/work with the youth, take care of my physical health, and make sure I dedicate time to doing simple things I enjoy (reading, journaling, roller skating, hiking). I recently booked a tiny cabin as a weekend getaway for myself in order to disconnect from the everyday, I highly recommend it!

My wife and I play golf. We volunteer at our local golf course and interact with many different groups of people. We also spend most of our free time with each other because we enjoy each others company.
