I currently have made a deep dive into my physical well being to help wit this. I have found that the more that I can exercise the more my mind can be put at ease.

After being injured by a mortar in Iraq, my entire life fell apart. Since then, I have kept my PTSD under control by trying as many crazy activities as possible. I have run numerous Spartan races, been skydiving, joined a roller derby team, rode dirt bikes, bought a Harley, and started training in Jiu Jitsu. I also play many instruments and have started writing and recording my own music. This is how I stay sane and take care of my mental health and well being.

I am grateful for what I have. God got me through a lot of mental health issues. There is the VA mental health services with group therapy, that I utilize. The VA is offering more yoga and Tai Chi classes.

To maintain or improve my mental health, I seek out community service activities in my area. I joined the Army because I am service-oriented and that didn't just stop after my contract ended. Giving back to my community not only helps those around me but it gives me purpose!
