I said it was stored there I didn't know if it was tested there not by military records unless they were classified records.

AO was never "tested" on Guam. It was used as a defoliant.

I am unaware of it. My first deployment to Guam was in 1987, 12 years after the end of Vietnam (and I'm guessing the last use of Agent Orange). I've been back to Guam in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1998, 2000 (all Tanker Task force or Desert Shield/OIF support) and then again in 2002 and 2003 (VIP/SAM airlift). Tooled around the island like most folks...rented a Guam bomb and took hikes into the boonies, went snorkling. Never noticed a thing. Now we're 41 years post-Vietnam, so I don't think it's a worry.

Col Joseph Lenertz - No offense was taken but concern for you and possibly your family. This stuff does not go away. There are recorded barrels of it still leaking in to the waters around Guam submerged in the sands of the ocean floor. Where sprayed, it contaminates the soil. Yes, plants grow back but that doesn't mean the dioxin is gone. It leaches in to the locally grown food and in some cases the drinking water. Please, before going back, educate yourself about this. As a member of the armed forces you place your life on the line all the time on purpose, don't do it through ignorance.

Col Joseph Lenertz - Stating, "I don't think it's a worry" is formulating an opinion. Sadly it's a very wrong opinion and may be taken as factual by some.

When you know nothing it's often better to say nothing. This way you will not be wrong.

Col.Joseph Lenertz please be,aware that the Governor and Lt Governor are fully aware of 5he severe contamination.
