It more of "administrative mismanagement ". I remember when I was on USS Seattle AOE-3. We in dry dock (ship repair station). We were no longer sailors but workers. There were no training to expand on your rating. We had more training when the ship was in water. Looking back during that time, I wish the higher ups on my ship or even my First Class took upon themselves to expand our knowledge, skills and hands on training in areas in our job rating level and higher.

The biggest challenges I see is the sponsorship and mentorship programs have really deminished. Many individuals in those roles use the position as a check in the box. More forcus for junior service members should be in those areas. Another challenge I see is efforts to retain members. The incentives are not too rewarding for members. Some rates, such as EM, Electrician Mate, have incentives few and far between. It is difficult to sell heritage, honor, courage, commitment, and all those other meaningful values to young service members. I think we need to meet these younger members where the are and rethink and reapproach how we can instill patrotism in them.

Two words - Recruitment and Retention.

First and foremost, the military's primary mission is to defend the country and its citizens. This requires a well-trained, disciplined, and dedicated force of men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line to protect their country.

Furthermore, the military is a complex organization that requires a wide range of skills, knowledge, and expertise to operate effectively - from combat soldiers to intelligence analysts, logistics personnel to engineers, each person in the military plays a critical role in ensuring the success of the mission.

The military will face numerous challenges - evolving threats, budgetary limitations, geopolitical instability, and an ever changing environment. They have risen to meet these challenges before and will do so again. However, without the right people everything becomes much, much harder.

As our current CSA said (and this applies to all the services), “Winning matters, and People are my number one priority. People are our Soldiers – Regular Army, National Guard and Reserve - their Families, Civilians, and Soldiers for Life – Retirees and Veterans. We win through our people, and people will drive success in our Readiness, Modernization and Reform priorities. We must take care of our people...”

People are the backbone of the military, and without them, it would be impossible for the military to achieve its objectives and protect the country.

Recruitment !
Too Many Young People of America Today Have Been Indoctrinated In The Wokeism Movement And Care More About Themselves Than They Care About Others And The Country , That Is One Reason Why Recruitment Is Down.
Another Reason Is That They Can’t Meet The Standards For Enlistment.
They Are Not Physically Or Mentally Fit, Have Criminal Records And Worst Of All Have A Poor Education And Can Not Pass The ASVAB Test.
Some Of These Can Be Corrected By A Better Education System That Not Only Teaches The Basics Of Reading, Writing And Math ! But Also Physical Fitness ! And Stop Pushing The Liberal Agenda !
More Parental Involvement With Their Children In All Aspects Of Life .There Are Too Many Absent Parents Who Allow Their Children To Not Learn How To Live A Healthy And Successful Life.
Religion Should Also Be Taught To Our Children It Makes No Difference Whether It Is Christian Or Another Faith, If They Are Taught There Is Something Greater Than Mankind Then They Will Know That Service To Others Is More Important Than Service To Self.

I See Young People Everyday That No Way Could They Qualify For Military Service,
Bull Rings In Their Noses, Tattoos On Their Face , A Friend Owns A Restaurant And I Help Out Some Times And The Circus That Comes In To Apply For A Job Is A Sad State Of Affairs, Many Who Say Are HS Graduates Can’t Even Fill Out The Application Without A Lot Of Mistakes.
Just This Past Week One Young Lady Came In For An Interview And Did Not Put Her Phone Down During The Whole Interview.
A Young Man Came In For A Delivery Driver Job And Said He Didn’t Have A Car But Could Use His Mother’s When She Would Let Him,
Another Woman Came In And Couldn’t Speak A Word Of English , She Could Only Speak Spanish.
Needless To Say None Got Hired .
If The Example’s Of The Young People I See Here In South Central Pennsylvania Are The Future Of This Country,
God Help Us All !

TSgt Carolyn Morgan - Wokeism is a term that has been used to describe a sociopolitical movement inspired by various aspects of Postmodernism and Critical Race Theory. It encompasses a broader awareness of social inequalities such as racism and sexism and has also been used as shorthand for American Left ideas involving identity politics and social justice1. The term “woke” originated in African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) meaning "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination"1. The phrase “stay woke” has history in AAVE as far back as the 1930s, in some contexts referring to an awareness of the social and political issues affecting African Americans.

However, some people use the term “wokeism” in a derogatory way to describe the behavior and attitudes of people who want to fundamentally change the thoughts to there way of thinking without a care of how it will affect the many. There is many statements from politicians and senior military officers that believe wokeism is direction that must be applied in the military with a common perception it may promote personal rewards. The effects it will have on military readiness is not an issue to those people.

It’s important to note that the meaning of this term can vary depending on the context in which it is used.

Russia and China. These two countries are allies with each other and together could cause us some damage if they decide to declare war on the U.S. That and lack of recruitment. Young adults are no longer interested in fighting for our country. Many of them lack principles and discipline. They are lazy and want everything handed to them on a silver platter.

The U.S. Military's fighting ability and strength is being systematically dismantled from within our own government. The woke ethics being force-fed on our troops, as well as the resultant lack of morale and moral standards are destabiliizing and eroding our fighting force. Now, the UN is seeking increased authority in global emergencies. The ability of our own government, and thus our military, to commit to our own preservation is systematically being removed.

Moving away from the politicians and closer to the populace.

There is a very widespread perception the previously apolitical military is becoming (or has become) politicized. Regardless of how true or untrue this perception is, this is one of those cases where perception is reality. The military needs to fix this, and quick. I don't have the full answer, but we can start with active flag officers NOT taking political stances. And retired ones, if they take political stances, CLEARLY taking a personal stance, not a professional one.

At the same time, the military, over time, has divorced itself from the general populace (or maybe vice versa). So, as the military moves away from politicians and politics, they need to move closer to the people. More engagement. More visibility. Be out in the community. Be in the schools. Show the people that service members are just normal Americans who have answered the call. We are not some special breed of super hero. We are just the people who said "yes" when Uncle Sam came calling.

What is "Woke" is broke. It is destroying our military and our country. Putting unqualified people in positions of authority just because they are freaks is not conducive to sustainability.
