I believe the military's biggest threat in 2023 is actually determining what is an actual threat to the security of America. Threats today take on varied and unprecedented forms and it can be difficult to determine what conflicts pose an actual threat and therefore warrant either military support or a response by our American troops.

End suicide as such a common scenario. We just keep providing sick care as we always have, doing mental health as a crisis afterthought once a suicide is more likely, and Veteran's will not tell us they are serious about it when they get that despondent. We must fix our Primary Care processes to put real prevention and care into effect!

Not having ground troops down anywhere for conflicts. After the middle east,it's probably not going to happen any time soon. And with the situation in Russia/Ukraine, and possibly Taiwan /China, depending on our alliance will be even harder as we try to be more country focused.

Retention, Recruitment of quality soldiers, and quality training on warfare fighting skills. The Senior Level Officers needs to jump off the WOKE train and jump aboard the Tanks and Fighting Vehicles and make sure our soldiers are being trained and sustained properly to fight and win a two progrong war in two separate countries maybe even 3 countries. I have never seen any statistics or history books that a war was won or lost by White, black or brown privileges. Company Grade officers, Senior NCOs and SOLDIERS fight and win our wars. So stop looking through those plexiglass stomachs and stand tall and straight and provide LEASERSHIP ( positive direction to produce quality outcomes). It seems ever generation of military leaders forgets that great leaders were Soldiers first and after their career was over then they dabbled in the BS of politics.
Soldiers deserve the best of everything. If they are willing to give their live for our Country or the defense of World democracy then damn it make sure they have the best of it all and that's especially true for for the Leaders to never sacrifice for any reason.

I believe that the military’s greatest challenge is recruitment of new soldiers. In the current domestic and international environment of changes in life styles, economic activity, world politics and the post nuclear family, it is extremely difficult for young people to recognize, understand and utilize the benefits of military training and life.
Very few things can provide the development of maturity, education and insight of what life is all about and the advantage of being a part of any branch of our countries military. It is unfortunate that it isn’t until we are older before we truly find out and understand, while serving and afterwards: there is nothing like it and it is second to none.
Soldiers swear an oath to protect and serve, knowing full well they are putting their life on the line for their country, for which, more than anything else, military service provides the knowledge that they are respected by all Americans for that commitment.
