Being a single female/ parent! Having to compete for federal jobs in the civilian world. Having little to know experience that can carry over to the civilian side. Even with a college degree many military single females end up working jobs they do not like or have to compete with military spouse to gain access and still get passed over. It is hard to gain experience when the job market your going into has actually left you behind because of your military service. Meaning many females get out of service after working in one job field they may go to school but also find it difficult to juggle being a single parent and working. Child care is expensive and jobs that work around your schedule or few and far between plus having to get access to health care for your children if you did not retire from service. It is almost like the military just drop you off after being gone for a while an saying now go find something that fits your lifestyle and use the skill that we gave you. Only to find that those skills are suitable for (men) because they or what the actual jobs are looking for. In the past year many single female veterans who are often uncertain about what the job market looks like end up working jobs that inky pay minimum wage and working two jobs to make ends meet for their family if they are lucky. The challenge is finding health care for single parents they can afford, educating the single female who may only posses the job skill the military has left her with and access to federal jobs that recognized the needs of single parent females when competing for jobs in the federal sector.

The current generation coming of age lacks coping skills. It's concerning that they may not know how to deal with the pressures of military life or transitioning after war.

One of the hardest challenges the military may face this year is the man power to cover both Europe and the Pacific may not be enough to cover both. The military is large as many other countries but not as large enough to loss anymore soldiers. One way to change this is to increase the number of soldiers coming into the military also allow veterans who are able and willing to fight to join us at war. We will need to help if everyone to insure that our soldiers are safe even if we may be out numbered at times.

I see recruiting and retention being the greatest challenge for the military. Gen Z are looking up transition out of the forces and Millennials are not interested in enlisting. Will our forces be ready for any major conflict?

The military’s greatest challenge as of 2023 is trying to teach this generation to fight for something that matters. Everyone nowadays wants to be seen or heard and voices opinions about gender identity and so forth. They don’t care that people are dying and we are at war. They need to be taught selflessness and that is something the military will struggle to do.

Getting recruits and keeping them, after my one term I was done and knew all I wanted to know about the Army.

Where to start…. Lowering recruitment qualifications gives you less qualified troops which is a less qualified military in real operations of war. Woke-isms are killing this country, including the one bastion I never would have dreamed, our military. It’s embarrassing on the world stage and sad to see it happen personally. I’m unable to comprehend how this happened in such a short period of time.
