What do you see as the military's greatest challenge in 2023 and why?

Redirecting the military and government's attention away from "woke-ism(s)" in order to focus on what's important; the soldiers, the safety of our fighting troops and the preservation of our military standards and getting back to the mission of protecting our country's freedoms, liberties and strength as a force to be reckoned with, because right now, the rest of the world does see the United States as a potential threat, much less a partner, and that is dangerous.

The greatest challenge I see for the military is having multiple theaters of operations in which there is a great degree of conflict across political parties that is placing a tremendous drain on our military resources due to delayed decision making.

Arctic security and readiness. With opening sea passages, we are already challenged by progress of other countries, particularly Russia and China—who wants to declare itself an Arctic State. Icebreakers, conversations with indigenous communities and assurance that their sustenance lifestyle is not going away, and other resources all play a role.

Training troops for that which we have a military. Not Social idiocy.

Serving the American people and caring for service members under a government that's taking away rights from women, minorities, and the LGBTQ community.

Finding people willing to join that have the right stuff... honor, courage, integrity... I see a major lack of work ethic and no basic skill in the workforce I recruit from now.

The same thing the world is dealing with, a lack of putting "us" before "me", which means that when armed forces are more concerned about personalities than the mission, we are doomed to fail.

Recruitment, Recruitment, Recruitment, and Retention!
There is a lack of patriotism among our younger generation due to sanctimonious political division in our nation. Wokeism has caused targeted men and women eligible for recruitment to not trust our armed forces leadership to keep its promises and commitment. Just look at the recent forcing out of service due to not getting a Covid injection. Among those affected were young people with leadership skills, self thinkers.
Somehow our youth have to understand that life is more than a handout, but about giving oneself and loyalty.
