What do you see as the military's greatest challenge in 2023 and why?

Preparedness, Quick response, and sustainability albeit nuclear or conventional.

Our military wanted to down size and did so. Now we are more vulnerable to our enemies. We need troop and military strength.

State legalization of THC - while it continues to be prohibited per federal law/the military

Discipline. Any old vet will tell you they see a decline in the code. Allowing personal preference to run the Army, or any other service, will loose the battle. The Military has bent over backwards accomodating individuals. Its time to enforce code, and give the benefits that are earned, acknowledge the awarded. The Military isn't meant to codle people, but build soldiers.

Maintaining a strong military to represent our country, and doing it in such a way as to let this be a deterant to other nations who might want to threaten us. Along with this, on a similar"note" we must be tough on those who show a threat to our nations security, like the recent China baloon incident. We can not let this type of thing "pass" as a benign event, with no reaction from our government. Also I think our military, both active and reserve, should be involved in controling the borders of our country, that have been controlled for good reason in the past. We can't afford to have drug dealers and terrorists sneaking in without being captured, and interrogated,and vetted. This is a huge threat to our nations security, and we have plenty of armed forces available that could be helping on the borders. This i a serious threat to our society and our economy. Us! We're riddled with Adversity Training, White people are bad training, Don't offend me training, Sexual Assault, Racial Profile Training. The Government has ruin another wonderful Organization Called the Army. Toxic environment thanks to Liberal Democrats who see WHITE as they enemy and People of color still not having a fair chance after 2023 years... We are our own biggest enemy...

The biggest challenge IMO is go back to being Men and Women and not so WOKE. You won't get the best by the way it is run now a days.

Remembering we are here to protect the country and its interests worldwide and not a proving grounds for social justice and wokeness...

As a vet, I feel, if it wasn't for the age restriction, that I'd re-serve my country again and go back through it. For the biggest challenge is, that the military provides too many good things that civilian life will never provide. Plus when getting out you'll have the GI Bill for life and who couldn't ask such a better thing? But to be honest, people are just not willing to give up and serve for their country because they are too scared.

I was an Aviation Electronics technician VX-9. In my opinion, the military's greatest challenge in 2023 is likely to be adapting to new technologies and global security threats while managing limited resources and competing demands.
