From what I have heard, they were, and can be, a great place to socialize and relax with others of similar rank. My stepfather loved them when he was in, it was a great place to relax, and ask questions. What do you think? Should the Air Force bring them back?

I experienced this type of Club while stationed in England,(not many U.S.Army personnel get that privilege), as a Senior NCO it was essential to maintain a Professional manner of conduct. Although there were some Officers the majority chose to go elsewhere to relax and be with their Peers. Only on special occasions would the Officers attend in the evenings. Since there was no Dining Facilities, Lunch and Supper was the only meals served to all Ranks, not really in a social setting, most of the Command had their meals to go, (usually eaten at their office). There were occasions where all ranks would have a meal together in an informal setting. I sponsored a few Cook-outs, where all the participants got to eat for free or for a Fund raiser event. I would always alert the Community Club so they wouldn’t prepare as much food as normal. I knew that I would be taking over a half of their normal lunch business. Since I knew the manager I wanted to stay in his good graces! As far as I can remember there was never any problems with the personnel assigned to High Wycombe Air Station. We had only one British Officer assigned as a Representative of our Host Country. All the personnel assigned both U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army got along well and were professional in all assigned duties and responsibilities.
