Long wait times for mental health and orthopedic surgery. Lack of dental care. More local clinics providing all specialties

Mental illness that veteran conceal due to macho man or male chauvinism culture. Also the the changes in the compensation: right now the burnpit the Camp lejeune. Many veterans are not aware of that. In addition lack of effort to locate military record in thoses cases

This isn't just for me, but for all the Vietnam Era vets who were spat upon and now it just seems the VA doesn't care as our bodies are breaking down.

I hope the disability rate will continue to increase due to the high living expenses we are all facing and especially us/those on a fixed income.

Cost of Living is not part of the Disability Rating. Your Disability Payment is base (yearly) on the Cost of Living increase. Disability Ratings are based on your Injury's sustained will in Service and do not Increase (or Decrease) unless you health changes.

Finding housing for veterans who are homeless. These people need help badly. Also when a disability occurs from your service and you file for it thru the Veterans disability , you are turned down for some reason which is not believable. These Vets need to know their disability is real and will be looked at.

The VA believes that if they DENY your requests for help, you will go away. Keep submitting Requests they will give in eventually. Good Luck.

Healthcare. Medical, Dental, Psychiatric. Too many veterans have to wait for treatment. Not to mention the quality of the care that they receive. As with other government services. Those employed at the VA at times seem more focused on their own salary, pension, and benefits. When they should be providing care and treatment to their patients.

I think the largest issue is 22 a day. the lack of compassion from some of the health care facilities is horrible and shameful.

I believe that veterans are under-represented in government. There should be more veterans within Congress, the Supreme Court and executive levels of state and federal government. I firmly believe that veterans have the global point of view, gained through combat deployments and overseas service, to see things in a way that civilians (no offense) just don't have the capacity to. The single minded point of view that our current governance has is detrimental to well-being of our country's citizens and that is in large part because a large number of them never spent any formative years outside of the comfort zone that is the United States. Veterans have seen war, and they know what needs to be done to avoid it, as well as seeing true disadvantage and having the compassion to be able to address it.

Divorce payment to spouses after 20 years of marriage. Half is too much. My pay should be untouchable. I was deployed. My spouse was not. I had to do PT to keep fit. My spouse did not. I was injured and have numerous illness from my service in the military. My spouse does not. We need our hard earned money to help us live a better life once we are retired. We should never have to give half of the half pay to my ex-spouse EVER. It should be 10% or less. There is no justification for abuse, lying or deceptive behavior. We find this out after we have the time to see hind site. And that is after all the years of lying and deception not seen til you find it out then get that divorce and now we are stuck. We did not take these spouses to give our life earnings to them for life. I didn’t. We need a new way to take care of us and stop all payment once they remarry. That is one of my big concerns. My kids get minimal help from their father. I am the mom and take the major roll of taking care of them. We have to fix this situation to be 100% fair to the veteran. I suggest a spouse account to start on marriage and it stops once member is out of the service and that will be dispersed be military channels
and once it’s gone that is it. That way the service member and spouse has money after retirement and or divorced and the members retirement pay will truly benefit that veteran. Not sink them once they are divorced from a person who they were married to who was stealing and deceiving then during that entire relationship.

I have been told "Veteran Disability Benefits are Untouchable"!!! They a given to the Veteran for injury's, etc. received thru your Service to your Country and not for anyone else. YOU EARNED THEM!! The VA given exes some money (not half) and you Benefits might go down a "little". Check with a Lawyer who know the Rules for Veterans. Civilian Lawyers aren't aware of the Military Requirements.
