As a veteran who is suffering from homelessness I can truly say without a doubt in my mind that if I had more resources to help with housing for veterans and their families I would have no problem becoming self sufficient for a longer period of time. Too many organizations claim that the veteran is their main concern but I'm going to say that in my own personal experience this is far from the truth. Time and time again my "intensive case management" has been absent when I was facing a crisis that could've been avoided had they actually served the vets instead of themselves.

Vets especially post 9/11 vets are not receiving the VA benefits they are entitled to. Wether it's due to lack of information and knowledge or in my case vets keep getting denied benefits they rightfully deserve.

I think ignorance is the one think for a lot of Veterans not knowing about veterans program that’s available to them and will suffer because of that ,and it’s easy to get discouraged and not seek the help that they need ,That’s just my opinion.

Veterans who are not well informed or internet savvy face the biggest challenges in capacity to maintain their own well-being through the various websites for application of benefits or scheduling appointments.

Hi everyone, I am new to this group. I am a civilian supporter that just partnered on a start up that is focused on helping military members and veterans. We are actively conducting focus groups with military members, spouses, and veterans to find out what types of services and tools would help you most when trying to leverage your earned benefits.
Through these groups, listening to the community, we have found that one major common issue facing the entire community is knowing what benefits are available and how to leverage them. Would you all agree?

I think one of the major issues to be addressed by the VA is: Why are so many of our veterans homeless??? This is a national shame. Something should be done. It comes under care and support for our veterans.

Unfortunately, I think one of the largest issues facing the veteran community is being labeled an 'extremist' for our patriotism. The Eff_Bee_Eye have labeled the American flag, the Gadsden flag and others as belonging to radical, violent, extremist supremacist groups, while ignoring the flags and behavior of real radical supremacist groups, such as ANTIFA and BLM. In other words, this Executive agency has declared war on patriots. They should be disbanded and we should allow US Marshalls to enforce federal law, or just do away with federal laws altogether. States are sovereign. If the Chief Executive can rule by exigency (the COVID-19 induced National Emergency is still in effect) then we no longer enjoy freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the promise of our founding documents.

LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND COMMUNICATING WITH THE RIGHT AGENCIES. I AM THE SPOUSE OF A VETERAN, AND SINCE HIS DEATH I AM NOT SURE WHAT BENEFITS ARE AVAILABLE AND WHO TO CONTACT. I HAVE EXPERIENCED BEING TRANSFERRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS ONLY TO BE HUNG-UP ON OR CONNECTED TO THE WRONG NUMBER.
I DO CONSIDER MYSELF SOMEWHAT PRIVY REGARDING HANDLING BUSINESS; BUT WHAT ABOUT OTHERS THAT JUST GIVE UP!
