Iwo Jima, 80 Men's Olympic Hockey Team, Jackie Robinson, Wright Brother's flight, Pearl Harbor attack, World Trade Center attack, OK City Murrow Fed Building attack, take your pick. There are so many good ones.

I just reviewed each and every photo. Sure, there are maybe 10 other iconic moments but with the exception of "The Rainbow WH" all of the others were perfect, and poetic.

Flag-raising on Iwo Jima, Apollo 11 Moon landing, pictures and video of people who survived the Holocaust, American POWs rescued from the Japanese, any picture form the Civil War that was taken after a battle, the Challenger explosion and Reagan's speech that evening, the Japanese surrender on the USS Missouri, images from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the flag draped over the side of the Pentagon, the flag that was raised at Ground Zero, any image from the successful launches in the early days of the space program, the Wright Brothers' flight at Kitty Hawk, any image from the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's, images from the attack on Pearl Harbor, the picture in Times Square of the sailor kissing the nurse on V-J Day, just to name a few.

Because it exposed to the public what the warriors already knew... that war is brutal and inhumane:
