It is a closely held fraternity of brothers. We know what we have been through and will go through. There are so many out there that think they are like us but when you go into a city knowing you are going to kill them you are not the same as the others.

Unit cohesion is fundamentally based on the desire of young males to want to form peer group bonds with other young males. Tight peer group bonds are the root of why men will fight to the death and give their lives for their buddies.

You fight and die for your buddies, for the men with you...…..you serve for mom, apple pie, and country.

Fraternity, the latin word frater means brother, s o I look at fraternities as brotherhoods. When you can honestly consider a man your brother theres nothing you wouldn't do for him. That alone is the importance in infantry! Infantry units in my opinion have the closest ties of every MOS, Rate, and AFSC in the US military. You guys are in the suck together and no matter what always have each others back. You can't get the kind of relationship everywhere, you can't get it at all in AF, at least I haven't. Hence why if I could I would switch branches in a heartbeat. My little AF 2 cents lol.
