As a constitutionalist I think what he did was of real importance. He tried to report within the system and was ignored. His duty, as is ours, is to the constitution. He stood for those principles.

I disagree SSG. I am a Constitusionalist as well. Snowden could have taking this information public through the media. Instead he chose to head to Hong Kong and then on to Russia. For a while Venezuala was offering him sanctuary. I remember his comment that Hong Kong had better freedom of speach protection than the United States. Snowden was a fool and is now a traitor.

If he truly was about the Constitution and upholding all the rights under it, he didn't show it by his actions, because he had no confidence that he could handle this from the US and have all due process under the law(s). That speaks volumes toward him believing he was in violation of laws or any NDA's he signed. Considering all the public outcry and support he could have gotten a lawyer and handled this much differently. With all the visibility his rights would have been a matter for public consumption. The ACLU and every "rights" attorney in the Nation would have been chomping at the bit to represent him. The whole "treason due to flight" narrative would not be in the mix. Worse still, he goes to Russia? Bad moves all the way.
