If I was her immediate supervisor, and I found out about this. Her A** would be hauled off to the 1st Sergent along with our Shop Chief so she can explain her actions to all of us before she sees the Squadron Commander. Because if they found out about I before I did. All hell would break loose. It would break loose with me too if I found out. And in the end, she will wish she was a bucket of goo.
This is happening to much in the AF as it is. With Airmen getting away with things and nobody corrects them until its too late.

This is a case of a young Airmen not fully appreciating the sacrifices made by those who served before her. I am sure she did not take this photo with malice in mind, she probably thought it would be funny. But we all know what that logo stands for/represents. We understand that this represents those who never made it home or are still unaccounted for. Almost everyone has taken a photo in our past which was taken out of context, or others saw it as something different than we intended it to be. Lets all be adults here and realize we do not know what she was thinking. That being said, I do not like the photo. It is extremely disrespectful to those it represents and the families of those service members. I think she could have chosen a better photo opportunity to take a funny picture.

Of course it's not appropriate, but we have all done things we are not proud of. The difference here? Photographic evidence. She has since apologized for her actions.

Apologizing and being held accountable are two different things. If a Soldier disobeys an order and disrespects you, are you okay with just an apology or would you hold the Soldier accountable?

There should be some type of disciplinary action done to this Airman. This in one of the most disrespectful things I've seen in the military. It doesn't matter if she apologized or not.

Definitely not appropriate! But ignorance is bliss. I'm pretty sure she had no idea what this picture represented or obviously she wouldn't do it. So I am going to be one of the few to say no disciplinary action. Now that doesn't mean I don't think she shouldn't be counseled and I think some good corrective action would be to educate her soldiers on the history of military POW's.

She was a SSG in the Air Force. I'm willing to bet that nobody is that damn stupid. The only alternative is that she did it intentionally, to be "cute".
