I'm considering joining TrustVets.Com and wanted to get some feedback from fellow RP members.

This is a networking startup, exclusively for veterans, that is expanding across the USA to drive business to veteran-owned businesses. Please check out the website and let me know what you think.

http://www.trustvets.com/ Thank you.

Sir,

Honestly, I checked the page out. It looks like it has the potential to grow into something good, but it is severely lacking right now. As I plan to be ETSing next year, It is a site I will continue to monitor. There are many organizations out there that assist veteran owned businesses, so I'm hoping this isn't another hat in an already full ring. What I do like about it is that it is BBB accredited. I have been on the losing end of enough scams targeting military personnel. However, I do like the intent behind it and hope it turns into something wonderful... I'll be watching.

You bring up a good point Blair. There are many scams targeting vets. My fear is, the worse the economy gets, the more people will try to scam. It sounds like you have been bit enough to approach with caution.
One of the things I like so much about RallyPoint, is that you already have a huge transition team of veterans that are more than willing to help. Some of the forums are totally awesome in the experience and advice given by others who have made the transition. Best of luck to you when you do transition out.
I will keep my eyes and ears open for the good and the bad and let you know if I come across anything.

Thanks! I'm still over a year out, but I have a plan... and a backup, but I am cautious, as I know plans never really work out (at least with my luck)

Think Positive, Murphy (Murphy's law) can't be everywhere all the time.
My battalion commander had a saying that sort of became the standard for our unit during his reign, be flexible. I hated hearing it, even today I don't like it but it is a truth of life.

Sir:
Take a look at the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA). They've been promoting the VOB movement for nearly a decade and have an established track record in this area. http://www.navoba.com/
They created the Buy Veteran movement listed below.

Pete,

I've been a member almost a year now..Got my first call today from a lady that wants to do business with me.. I like to founder and he has a good staff. They are growing...they have a network meeting in different parts of the metro area in Minnesota which is great to connect with other vets.

My opinion a Veteran Business needs to be in some type of organization as a way to give their customer proof of service for that reason I belong to them and Vetrepreneur of buyveteran.com

They appear to be a for-profit company. I always look for information on how they intend to monetize their business and I couldn't find anything on their website.

It appears to be a startup and seems to be very active in Minn. I did send an email to gather more information about the group.

I have been a part of Trustvets.com for almost 2 years now. They are growing fast in the Twin Cities Market and now to other states. This is probably the best designed group for military business owners to gain business.
